Chigozie Obioma was born in Akure, Nigeria in 1986. He studied creative writing at the University of Michigan. His first novel, The Fishermen – a darkly mythical yet powerfully moving tale of four young Nigerian brothers in the face of tragedy – has met world acclaim and was shortlisted for the 2015 Man Booker Prize. It has been translated into 22 languages and will be released in Danish by Forlaget Klim in August 2016.
Chigozie Obioma will be visiting Aarhus shortly before attending Louisiana Literature Festival, so for those who cannot make it to Copenhagen, here is an exceptional chance to meet an internationally acclaimed and immensely talented story-teller at Dokk1.
